Heath House is the result of an exceptional collaboration between the award-winning architects at Fabric Architecture and our team at BBM Constructions. Situated on the edge of Bouddi National Park, Heath House was born from an idea around creating a home on a challenging site that sought to disturb as little as possible of the surrounding environment.
Exposed off-form concrete and stone elements – including a large sandstone boulder which was uncovered during excavation – ground the building, while the use of Black Shou Sugi Ban charred timber cladding and blackbutt sliding doors on all three levels elevates the home as it rises up the block. Modinex batons constructed of weather resistant aluminium tie the off-form concrete levels together while the cantilevered roof lines finished in microcement provide a stunning framing design element.
Completed in March 2025 with architectural finishes of the highest standard, this unique coastal home was Highly Commended at the 2025 HIA Hunter Awards and a finalist in the 2026 MBA Newcastle Excellence in Building Awards.

Hunter Region Custom Build Home $2.45 million to $3 million
The stone and concrete at the base seeks to ground the home and the external and internal timber features are both really beautiful. The home provides a sense of calm and tranquility by connecting to nature while providing privacy, so you feel like you’re a million miles away yet you’re close to all of the amenities of the Central Coast. We’re excited to see how this house settles into its place and assists in changing the face of Heath Rd. We’ve designed and built a resilient and elegant home that will stand the test of time.
